OneFold terms of use

OneFold is a personal hobby project by an individual developer ("the developer"). There is no company or legal entity behind it. It is proprietary freeware: free to use, but NOT open-source software, and the source code is not licensed for reuse.

1. License grant

The developer grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the application for your own personal financial tracking, free of charge under these terms. No fee is required to use the current version.

2. Restrictions

You may not, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits:

a. sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise redistribute the application;
b. copy, modify, translate, or create derivative works of the application;
c. reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application, or attempt to derive its source code; or
d. remove or alter any proprietary notices.

3. Future changes and paid options

The developer may change, add, suspend, or remove features at any time, and may release future versions, editions, or related services that require payment or a subscription (for example, optional paid tiers or premium features). Using a future version or a paid feature may be subject to updated or additional terms presented at that time. These terms apply to the version you are using; nothing here obligates the developer to keep any feature free in future versions.

4. Your data and sharing

The application stores your data on your own device. The developer does not collect, receive, or sell your financial data. What leaves your device (and when), including the optional, end-to-end encrypted family sharing you can turn on, is described in the OneFold privacy policy. If you enable family sharing, you alone choose whom you pair with and what you share with them; you are responsible for that choice and for keeping your family passphrase safe, and a person you share with can read what you choose to share. You are responsible for your own backups.

Any statement file you import is one you provide. The application reads it on your device, does not connect to your bank or to any account-aggregation service, and asks for no banking credentials. You are responsible for reviewing imported transactions for accuracy before you confirm them.

5. Third-party components and data

The application bundles third-party open-source components that remain under their own licenses; those licenses are reproduced in the OneFold third-party notices and continue to govern those components. Nothing in this agreement limits your rights under those licenses with respect to those components.

When you refresh prices, the application also retrieves market data from third-party data providers; that data remains subject to those providers' own terms, and your use of it must comply with them. The developer is not responsible for third-party data or services.

6. No warranty

THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

The application is a personal tracking tool and does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Verify all figures before acting on them.

Prices and exchange rates come from third-party sources, are delayed and indicative rather than real-time, and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unavailable; any parallel or unofficial market rates shown are estimates. They are provided for personal tracking only, not for trading, and the developer does not warrant their accuracy, timeliness, or availability.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE DEVELOPER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE APPLICATION.

8. Termination

This license ends automatically if you breach these terms. On termination you must stop using and remove the application. Sections 6 and 7 survive termination.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

By installing or using the application you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use it.
